Send Flowers for Grandparents’ Day
Share
This year we're celebrating Grandparent's Day on September 13, 2026, and while it doesn't have quite the same hype as Mother's Day, we think it can be just as important. It's a chance to send something special
Grandparents probably don't need another mug, candle, or box of chocolates.
Flowers, though? Always a good idea.
Grandparents’ Day is September 13, 2026, and while it might not have quite the same fanfare as Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day, we think that's part of the charm. It’s a chance to send something beautiful to the grandparents, grandparents-by-choice, or older loved ones who have been there for you through it all.
And honestly, you don't need a reason to send flowers to your grandparents. But having one is nice.
What Flowers Should You Send Your Grandparents?
We'd skip anything that feels overly traditional or “grandma bouquet”-ish.
Instead, think about what they'd actually love. Maybe that's a wild, colourful arrangement full of seasonal flowers. Maybe it's something soft and garden-inspired. Maybe your grandpa is secretly the biggest flower person in the family.
Our vote? Send something seasonal.
In September, that could mean dahlias, garden roses, cosmos, hydrangea, zinnias, and beautiful autumn textures. The result feels abundant and special without looking like you picked something from a generic gift catalogue.
Sending Flowers for Grandparents’ Day in Toronto
If your grandparents live in Toronto, or you live across the city and won't make it over for Sunday dinner, have flowers delivered.
It's especially nice when the delivery is unexpected. No occasion to remember, no gift to wrap, no shopping required. Just flowers showing up at their door with a note from you.
“Love you. Wish I could be there.”
That's probably enough.
At May Flowers, we create modern, seasonal arrangements for delivery throughout Toronto. For Grandparents’ Day, we'd recommend choosing something that feels personal, seasonal, and a little bit joyful.
Because the best flower deliveries aren't really about the flowers.
They're about making someone feel remembered.
