Most days I’m working at May Flowers, a full service florist and coffee shop that I opened with my big sister in midtown Toronto. We’re usually sipping on oat milk lattes, listening to R&B, and creating floral goodies that go all around the GTA (and more). When I’m not working, I’m probably heading out on the town with my husband, Gus or we’re getting our bags packed for one of our wheels-up adventures. I’m a visual artist, houseplant lover, and pho connoisseur.
I was a marketing specialist working as a freelancer for a few small time companies when I discovered the world of events, weddings, and flowers. A quick change of course had me sitting in floral design school with a pen and a notebook eager to dive into this new world. Fast forward a little, my sister was getting married and they had asked me to create floral arrangements for their 300+ party. Fast forward three years, I’m sitting here at May Flowers on St. Clair West writing you this email with a pretty decent customer base.
Along the way, I’ve worked with and learned from some incredible design *masters* who have shaped my skills and have helped me be professional while staying creative. I’m always learning and continuing to learn, stay on top of floral trends, and push myself to be the best. It hasn’t always been easy but I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and I don’t take my work lightly.
When I created May Flowers, my mission was to use everyday to celebrate love, life, and all the real moments that make us feel good. And that’s what we continue to do!
Okay, that’s a lot but in case you’re a bit more interested in my story, feel free to pop into the shop and say hi!
Until next time,
